Sri Venugopala Dasaru (1728-1751)
Timmanna Dasa was called Venugopal Dasa. Venugopal Dasa was popularly known as Pangunamada Timmanna Dasa.
Timmanna Dasa was at Advani, now Adoni, and held a very high executive post under the sultanof Advani. He was diwan of the state. Later he was tired of worldy matters and renounced his diwanship. He sought Dasas discipleship.
It is believed that in his previous birth he was Vaikuntha Dasa and was in Belur. That was why he was called Pangunamada Timmanna Dasa. This name was givn to him by Vijya Dasa.
Timmanna Dasa wrote a number of songs under the Ankita, Venugopala Dasa. He is refered as Gopala Dasa. In his writings, style and thinking he belongs to Gopal Dasa group.
It is now believed that in the next birth Timmanna Dasa was born at
Modalkal and is now known as Modalkal Shesha Dasa.
